Did you know that we have a campus in China?

The University of Nottingham has a purpose-built campus in Ningbo, China. Expo gives us a great opportunity to showcase our world leading education in the neighbouring city of Shanghai.

Our presence at Expo

The University of Nottingham will have a major presence at the Shanghai Expo 2010. We will be running a program of events over a 6 month period from May to October.

The University is a major sponsor of the ZEDFactory Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. The World Expo in Shanghai will be like no other: in sheer scale, the expectation of approximately 70 million visitors during the six month period seeks to set a world record of attendance. The distinctive theme of the Expo is ‘Better cities, better life!’

ZEDFactory is a long-standing partner of the University and has been instrumental in the development of the Creative Energy Homes on campus.

We’re hugely excited to be at Expo 2010.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our work that is addressing Big Global Problems – water, food, energy, transport, health. These aren’t just local priorities – they’re national and international imperatives. They need to play out in our research, in our teaching and training programmes, to policymakers and to the international business community. Expo 2010 provides a one time opportunity to do this in one place, at one time. To reach not just a Chinese audience but a global audience and provide physical engagement with people and issues.
It's great that we can share a platform with those who have grasped the vision that global problems need global solutions. That’s what the University of Nottingham is all about. That’s what Expo 2010 is all about.

Participate, engage, come and see us, come and work with us. Share the journey.
